Lake Placid Aquatics, Inc is a non-profit
organization striving to promote the sport of swimming through a summer swim
league. While instilling discipline, goal setting, hard work, and self
motivation, the sport also teaches the lifetime ability to reach personal
physical fitness in a fun and family friendly activity. The league is open to
swimmers of all ages and abilities, and has as an ultimate goal, the
development of every individual swimmer to their maximum potential.
LPA, Inc provides an increasing level of competitive swimming development from
age 5 through high school, and for the adult swimmer seeking improvement for
multi-sport disciplines, through coaching of stroke technique, racing
modalities, conditioning, and endurance training.
Each swimmer will
be provided with coaching appropriate to their ability and desire, and given
the opportunity to prepare and participate in competitive swimming events
commensurate with the local facilities and the availability of said facilities,
on a seasonal basis.
A major goal of LPA, Inc is to develop the skills of swimmers beginning at a
very young age, which prepares them to swim competitively during their high
school career, and to that end, the summer program for high school swimmers is
designed to allow them to reach maximum conditioning and performance at the end
of summer, when the FHSAA season begins. Some swimmers may attain a level at
which they desire a swimming regimen involving multiple daily sessions, and
year-round workouts and coaching. The format and facilities available to
LPA, Inc do not
allow for this, and swimmers and parents are encouraged to consult with the
coaches and swim coordinator if you feel your swimmer may benefit from a
program of that type, so we may make a referral.
LPA,
Inc is a fee based program, with a paid coaching staff and requires each
participant to join the national governing body, USA Swimming.
Scholarships for the summer program may be available occasionally.
